Hi, I’m yvette!

Hi, I’m Yvette born and raised in Maryland.  I work in partnership with others on their journey to make lasting lifestyle change.  We are witnessing the rise of the unhealthiest generation ever.  In my own life, I have seen the suffering of loved ones dealing with the effects of obesity, high blood pressure, cancer, and other serious conditions.

The biggest lost that I experienced was the sudden death of my sister, who was only 40 years old.  She was two years older than me and this made me really take a close look at the health and well-being of myself and my loved ones.  At that time, I realized that she suffered in isolation.

My eyes were opened to the pressures we, especially women, put on ourselves to strive for perfection, do it alone, take care of everything, and not be a burden to others.  The reality is that we need each other and it’s okay!  Because of Love for my family, my self, and my community, I decided to become a part of the change movement.

After years of working on the JOB, I knew that I needed to make some serious changes.  I returned to school twenty years after receiving my BS from Frostburg State University.  I attended the Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH) where I began self-exploration and self-healing.  Yes, change is scary. The struggle was real!  I survived the experience of working full-time, being a full-time student, and a serving as a full-time mother and wife.  I earned a Master of Science in Health Promotion [2015] and a Master of Art in Health and Wellness Coaching [2016].  I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) [2017], earning the title of Integrative Health Coach.  I am one of the first candidates to take and pass the National Board Certification for Health and Wellness Coaches, earning the distinction of NBC-HWC.

During this educational journey I discovered mindfulness, skills to set attainable goals, and became more aware of the support system available to me at home and in my community.  I continue to work on myself on this journey of life, grateful for the resulting personal growth.  Each of us has the ability to change ourselves, starting with our thoughts and beliefs.  As we think, so we are.

BeGause of Love,

Yvette Gause, M.S., M.A., NBC-HWC
